On Thursday, August 29th, the “Rocket Car” was at Wickliffe Public Library. The Rocket Car has its origins at Euclid Beach amusement park where the rocket ship rides opened in the 1930’s. Its three rocket ships, suspended from cables, would be lifted off the ground and fly in a circle at high speeds. The ride remained popular until the park closed in 1969. In the late 1990’s the three ships were converted into street legal automobiles. Lucky winners of our Circulation Raffle had a thrilling ride on a beautiful summer evening! What fun!
