Thanks to a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio, Wickliffe Public Library has a new sensory wall in the Children’s Department. The sensory wall features three sensory activities, perfect for children of all ages, those with sensory needs and autistic or special needs children. The wall provides tactile activities with low noise as well as problem solving puzzles. The activity tiles will be switched out periodically to showcase a new sensory option.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s libraries and museums. We advance, support, and empower America’s museums, libraries, and related organizations through grantmaking, research, and policy development. Our vision is a nation where museums and libraries work together to transform the lives of individuals and communities. To learn more, visit www.imls.gov and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
