Illegal gambling and top name entertainment made Tommy McGinty’s Mounds Club a favorite nightspot for Cleveland’s Who’s Who. In September 1947, the swanky private club in Willoughby Hills, OH was the scene of a mob robbery that took more than $500,000 in cash, jewelry and furs.
