June 3 – 7

During the Children’s Kick off Summer Reading Adventure Week, the library will have a variety of engaging activities to encourage children to participate in the summer reading program, activities include:

Monday, June 3 – Summer Reading Sign-Up Begins: The week will start with a registration event where children can sign up for the summer reading program. They will receive a reading log and information about the program and its benefits. You may also join us for ABC Story Time Adventure for children birth-age 6 at 10:00am.

Tuesday, June 4 – Garden Scavenger Hunt: This activity will take place in the library’s sensory garden. Children will be provided with a scavenger hunt checklist that includes items they need to find or tasks they need to complete. They will explore the garden, searching for plants, insects, or environmental features. This fun and educational game will encourage children to connect with nature and learn about the environment.

Wednesday, June 5 – Make and Take Kids Crafts: Kids will have the opportunity to create various crafts related to the summer reading theme, such as bookmarks, character puppets, or personalized reading journals. Children will be able to take their crafts home to use while reading or to showcase their creativity.

Thursday, June 6 – Claw Machine Challenge: A fun game for K-3rd graders to win prizes!

Friday, June 7 – “BOGO” Day: This special day encourages K-3rd grade children to borrow books from the library. For every five items they check out, they will receive a ticket. These tickets can be exchanged for various rewards or privileges, such as the chance to enter a raffle, participate in a special reading-related activity, or receive a free book.
